About Us

The name “Casa Tlapali” comes from a Nahuatl word native to southern Mexico meaning “color”. Tlapali, which is also written as tlapalli, describes everything we sell…and brings the unique color and styles from Mexico to your home.

We have cultivated relationships with traditional artisans from all around Mexico for the past 20 years. Their skills have been passed down and honed through generations. Each item is unique, and as is the case with handmade items, can take days or weeks to produce.

We value our artisan partners’ time, expertise, and dignity, so we only pay fair trade prices. We don’t haggle and we don’t rush the process. We select the best pieces that will appeal to our clients and uphold the quality we know our customers have come to expect.

By purchasing from Casa Tlapali, you are showing that you value unique, artisanal, handmade products that honor the dignity and expertise of the generations of weavers, basket makers, and other artisans that have carefully crafted each item.
